# Custom Domain

> Connect your own domain to MetaSurvey so shared links, embeds, and share pages run on your brand instead of the MetaSurvey subdomain.

Make your surveys look professional and align with your brand by using your company’s domain name. You can use a different subdomain for each survey or the same one for multiple surveys.

## Steps to Set Up a Custom Subdomain:

1. Open your survey and click **Share**.

1. Click **Link and SEO settings**.

1. Enable **Custom domain** and enter your subdomain: ![Set up a custom domain in MetaSurvey](https://getmetasurvey.com/help/custom-domain/n4lNiuulC1L9ZjnznniKYwNY.webp)(width: 1520, height: 820)

1. In your domain provider’s DNS settings, add a **CNAME record** pointing to **customers.getmetasurvey.com** and set **proxy status** to **DNS only**: ![CNAME record in DNS settings](https://getmetasurvey.com/help/custom-domain/7w4VNefOyYDBGL2Gz1ddIZ9w8.webp)(width: 1520, height: 173) *Note:* you can only link a subdomain (e.g., survey.mycompany.com), not your primary domain (e.g., mycompany.com).

1. Click **+ Add**. If you see a verification error, wait up to 24 hours for DNS updates.

1. Once verified, your survey link will include your custom domain. The old link will still work.

*Note:* it may take a few minutes for your domain to generate an SSL certificate. Open the survey in a new tab or incognito mode to verify.
