“Other” option for a Multiple Choice question

Including an “Other” option allows respondents to provide an answer not listed among the choices. Here’s how to add it using Conditional Logic.

Step 1: Add the “Other” Choice

  1. Locate your Multiple choice question.

  2. Add “Other” as the last choice:

    "Other" choice


Step 2: Add an Open Answer Question

  1. Create a new Open Answer question for the “Other” option:

    Open answer question


  2. Move this question next to the multiple choice question.

Step 3: Set Up Conditional Logic

  1. For “Other” selected:

    • Set the logic: If “Other” is selected, go to the Open Answer question:

      Conditional logic 1


  2. For other choices selected:

    • Set the logic: If any choice except “Other” is selected, skip to the question after the Open Answer question:

      Conditional logic 2
