Webhooks
You can connect MetaSurvey with other services, such as Google Sheets, using survey webhooks and any automation tool, like Zapier, Pabbly, or Make.
Quick overview:
In your automation tool select Webhooks (use search).
You'll be provided with a unique URL to retrieve data via webhooks.
Copy-paste this URL to your survey Webhooks (Open your survey -> Click Connections).
Now you can monitor survey completion and access real-time survey results.
Add a second step to send survey results to another service.
Below, you can find detailed guides for the most popular automation tools.
Note: webhooks don't work in a preview mode, only in a real survey.
Zapier
Note: Zappier may require a Premium plan to use Zapier Webhooks.
Log in to your Zapier account.
Click Create Zap in the sidebar.
Click the first step Trigger.
Search for Webhook and select Webhooks by Zapier.
Select the Catch Hook event on the right sidebar.
Click Test and copy your Webhook URL.
Then navigate back to MetaSurvey.
Open your survey and click Connections.
Select Webhooks and paste the copied URL:
Click Test.
You will see the green check icon if the webhook was successfully sent to Zapier.
Then navigate back to Zapier.
Click Test Trigger.
You will see the test data you just sent from MetaSurvey. (Please note that it's test data; when someone completes your survey, you will get real data. The webhook won't send data when you complete a survey in Preview mode).
Now you can receive webhooks from MetaSurvey! Time to configure a second step to send it to your desired service (in this example, we will send it to Google Sheets).
Click Action.
Search for the desired tool (I searched for Google Sheets) and select it.
Click Choose an event.
Find Create Spreadsheet Row and select it.
Click Continue.
Click Sign In to sign in and select the preferred spreadsheet.
Once you are signed in, click Continue.
Select your Drive (Google Drive).
Select your Spreadsheet.
Select your Worksheet.
You may be required to add titles to the first row of your selected spreadsheet. Let's add some titles to the spreadsheet.
Click Refresh Fields to pull your new titles.
Select a value for each of your titles.
Click Continue.
Click Test Step.
Now you can check your spreadsheet for a new row.
Click Publish.
Done! ✅ Now you can receive survey results directly in Google Sheets in real-time.
